With World War I commemorations very much in mind, we have added to the orchestral music for hire list, with They Went With Songs to the Battle by Douglas Coombes. This is a very poignant piece yet avoids becoming morbid. There is no sense of celebrating a victory, neither is there any irony or trivialising of the great sacrifices made during that great conflict. It is highly effective at evoking our finer emotions.

Also available, is Douglas Coombes's haunting setting of Wilfred Owen's poem 'Anthem for Doomed Youth' - SSA piano/keyboard and optional bells. There is an exciting 'Laudamus Te' by Robert Latham (SSA a cappella) and a lovely new carol for juniors by Laura Shur 'The Bells of Christmas Eve'.

Our latest title, for SATB a cappella voices, is a charming new piece for Christmas concerts – Snow in the valley

Also, for those new to choral singing, a very handy little booklet by Derek Harrison, experienced singer and choral conductor, on what you should know, aside from whether or not you read music.
